Wills & Probate Records

This page is currently under construction. I have over a dozen wills from the 1600’s and 1700’s which I photocopied from the files at the Cornwall Records Office during my last two visits there in 2012 and 2013. I am in the process of transcribing each will and identifying the branch of the family represented by the persons mentioned in these wills.
I hope to have the collection of wills posted online by the end of Jan 1014.

Will of Joseph Sambell of Landulph, Cornwall – 9 Sept. 1726

Photocopy from microfiche record

Will of Joseph Sambell 1726

(Personal Comment: This is a handwritten will. The handwritting of the surname Sambell frequently appears as Samboll. The small letter “e” includes a small loop at the top of the letter making it appear as an “o” when in fact it was the common way to represent the letter “e”. Descendants of this Joseph represent living branches of the Sambell(s) clans who live in Cornwall & Devon England, Perth Australia and London, Ontario Canada.

Citation; from the files of the Cornwall Records Office, Truro, Cornwall
Microfiche No. AP/S/2668 item #159
